Attorney at Law graduated from Universidad de Los Andes (2005), awarded with the Diploma of Honor for Academic Excellence; he has a degree in Environmental Law from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2006-2007), and Master in Natural Resources (LLM) from University of Denver, awarded as the best student of the generation. In 2013 he was an intern of the mining department at Holland & Hart (Denver). Mr. Lewin has also served as Assistant Professor of Constitutional Law (2001), Administrative Law (2007-2009), and Mining Law (since 2010). He has taught postgraduate courses related to the mining industry at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (since 2013) and Universidad Finis Terrae (since 2013). Previously worked in Aninat Schwencke & Cia (2005 – 2007), Alessandri & Cia (2007 – 2009) and in Carcelén, Desmadryl, Guzmán & Tapia Abogados (2009 – 2018).
He has advised companies on foreign investment, contracts and real estate issues; due diligence process and acquisition and sale of local companies and project financing operations; negotiation and drafting of joint ventures, contracts and agreements of various kinds. Likewise, he has provided advice to family businesses, preparing protocols, councils and family committees as well as patrimonial restructuring planning of family allowances. In addition, he advises national and foreign companies and mining projects in the drafting and negotiation of all types of contracts, association agreements and shareholder agreements, as well as in the constitution and defense of their mining properties, easements and mining disputes. Mr. Lewin has also participated in the drafting of mining regulations for small-scale mining.
